take my advice and try it if you're looking for a really good recording P with a 1.5" width.. This sounds great w the flats, great.
Plays nicely,
Perhaps a tech could get it better yet, it's playing wonderfully though.

I played this guy a week ago at Quad's apartment; it's got great thump and plays effortlessly - he's also a really great guy to deal with. |

Still amazes me how you can get a Korean Peavey for almost the same money as a USA made one. Hmmmm... GL with the post. Great buy for anyone looking for a P/J! |

The trans finish on the alder body is really tough,
bridge is really large ("solid"?) & well built, pots & pu's sare smooth, tight.
It's something u can gig and record with.
without making a single mod, maybe straplocks,I guess

Have you ever played one,if so how do they compare? I do have a couple of Squier Jazz's (CV and a Jazz77) so I am looking for a decent "P" bass to try. Your bass sure is tempting. Thanks Laurie BTW that bridge looks alot like the stock bridge on a Squier Classic Vibe Jazz, could be the same.

| | Registered User | | Join Date: Jul 2006 Location: NYC | | | Ive owned MIM P's and J's, I'd say this bass has a little nicer neck and feel out of the box,and the 1.5" Pbass thing is cool. I couldn't say,really..It's been 5-7 years since owning one,but I will say this, it is solid, tight, reliable. stays in tune, tough finish, good componants, pots are smooth, tuners are perfect..tough as nails finish on body and fingerboard, frets feel smooth..it's a bass I never had worked on,and it was totally without any flaws, nothing I'd upgrade. To me,that's good.
Let's face it, everybody.. In every ad or post says their bass plays and sounds great. Some are better than others, I'd say, for $300-400, this is a boatload of quality,
I'd say offhand, that a Mex P or J may have a coolness factor,and it's a classic.
The Zodiac has a very authentic tone, smooth and quick neck and setup, skinny J width nut..
It seems a little more quality to me, the feel, "solidness" of the parts, the finish and the setup out of the box are a little better, but the pickguard looks soso to me, and The name Peavey never impresses anyone, u can bring an imported Fender to a session, it's still a Fender
I like this bass, I'm picky, too.
For the cash I'm asking, it's about the best quality u will get,
I'm sure if that.
it was intended as my backup bass/Apt-rehearsal bass,
a bass i use to practice at home with so i don't have to take the Roscoe out of the case.It kicks ass,but I never gig with passive basses,it stayed home,in it's gigbag.
My wife bought me an Ibanez Micro which I'm modding,
It will take the place of the Peavey. I can use the money for the Mikro project, and I have no space for a lot of basses.

$195 plus shipping, will be packaged well in a heavy grade bass box, lots of foam, etc.
UPS tends to run 30-40 bucks..
I've seen it as low as $23 and as high as $48,we have UPS worldship software, so I'll get the exact figure, and get it out fast,I'll insure it and give u the tracking number.
no hardshell case,it's a gig bag,so It'll be lighter than other basses I've shipped.
She's wearing a new set of XL's,I have a very clean Peavey Scorpion gigbag I got from a friend,It has one shoulder strap, sling style..it has the hook for a 2nd strap if u want to add one.
She's never been adjusted or set up, she always felt fine to me totally out of the box/stock,so I felt no need to touch anything..except for changing strings.
It's a fairly low priced bass,so regular paypal will be fine,
With the Echeck method,I could save a couple of bucks,
but the bass would reach you a week later,so we'll do regular paypal.

Again, for this price, I can sincerely say that the quality, feel and tone is more than decent, it's something u can use in a pro situation, without any upgrades whatsoever.
It holds tuning,perfectly..pots and pegs turn smoothly and work efficiently. The Pbass tone with flats or rounds is super authentic and classic sounding. The neck is thin and quick, frets are smooth,
To me,
a bass is either an "apartment" bass,
or a gigging bass.period.
This is the latter.
For $195, this is a bass u can bring to an audition, show or record with..that's a big deal IMO
I never had any problems with her in any area..but I never adjusted her or tightened any screws..nothing.
So I'll assume she could play even better with a pro setup.
