PEDULLA Thunderbass 5 Neck-Through Project Bass - Wrecked & Semi-Repaired

Sign in to disble this ad
SOLD!

I bought this bass as a project - bought it locally from some kid that wrecked it and then tried to repair it - didn't do the best job but the glue bonds are strong (probably used Gorilla Glue or the like). When I got the bass it was actually strung up and played great, but the electronics weren't wired properly so it didn't work. Can't tell you about the tone.

Anyway, I was going to have fill and refinish the bass completely and then redo the electronics, but I just don't have the time for projects right now. I have half the backplate left as well - the original owner tried to splice another piece of wood on and it's comically bad. Pedulla quoted me $150 for a new backplate and you have to ship them the bass. This would be a great project for an aspiring luthier to tackle a major repair.

Selling the body for $200 shipped

Was that quote from Pedulla only for the plate? Would he check if the body is sound?

Do you know if that has a 17.5 or 19mm bridge?

The $150 for just for the plate, but it was the cost of a finished plate. They may charge less for a raw one. I'm assuming he'd give it a once over while it was there. Just meaured the bridge and center to center was 3/4", so 19mm spacing.

Man what a time of year for this to show up. I was ready to send you money then my wife had to goto the ER last night. $200.00 out the door. I'm confident that I could make this an awesome player. Guess we'll see if it's still around when I got some cash.

P.S. Smashed it on the stage didn't he? Douchebag.

+1!

I never understood why anyone would intentionally destroy an instrument for theatrics. I cringed this summer when NASCAR's Kyle Bush destroyed a special edition guitar (Gibson Les Paul IIRC) that was given to him as the winning race trophy.

Free bump - hopefully someone will bring this bass back to playing condition soon.
