Pelosi 5 string beauty FS/FT

Sign in to disble this ad
Picked this up in trade and am realizing the 17mm string spacing at the bridge is too tight for me since I bounce back and forth between my 4 string Bongo w/ flats and this fiver during our set list, which has down tuned numbers requiring a five. (at least for me). It is a beautiful piece of work that is a bargain for the detail and features. German cut top with spalted maple over alder, and the rest of the list includes wenge, monkey pod, sapele etc. Pictures,(at least mine), do not do it justice, and the neck fingerboard inlay is beautiful. 3 posistion toggle switches from single to humbucker to splitcoil or something like that? All active electronics 34.5 inch scale for a nice tight B string. Don't know real street value as old video suggests Pelosi sold some 5's for 1800.00 but Bass Emporium has this listing http://www.bassemporium.com/item.php?sku=PB109 Got something in a 34.5 or 35" scale to trade? or sale price of 1550.00 shipped.
Note: I took it to my luthier cause at my house and practice space depending on which toggle posistion I selected or how I turned the selector knobs I got a hum. My luthier plugged it into an Ampeg and got no hum. The TB'er I got it from said "what hum" So YMMV. I was gonna do a copper cavity shield but the spacing issue is making me move it. NJot an issue when playin in the mix for sure. I'm just picky. Case included.

this one?

By the way this is possibly the actual bass I am selling on the screen. I just bothered to check the spalted maple top in the starting still and it matches mine. They shave the top wood thin so several could be similar I suppose. He gives info you might be interested in.

Thanks ubado, It's a stunner in person. My drummer told me he found himself checking it out when we're playin.
Definitely has that multiple thousands boutique visual for a MUCH better price. There is a video of a pro slappin a Pelosi at NAMM if anyone wants the link .. lousy background noise but http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zSV8lMd8n3w&NR=1

Any trade offers in the 1500.00 range?

Any quality fretted 4 or 5 worth 1500.00 or so? Might even cosider fretless if you catch me at the right time.
P.S. No Fender P or any Jazz depth necks.
