This is one of the original A Bass prototypes made by Albey Balgochian & Darryl Jones. It was sold by Albey to a childhood friend who is a sax player in my band. It is in unplayed condition & still had the original strings on it when I bought it. It has Lane Poor pickups & a Badass bridge. It's got a very clear & distinct sound with the Sadowsky flats I put on it. Maybe the bass with the most definition I own. I just never play 4 strings anymore on stage. I would be willing to trade for the right 5'er. My fave would be a Cliff Bordwell (CB) 5 string fretted or fretless w/out lines, but I'll look at anything you have to offer. Straight sale price would be $1700. |

No one seems interested, but this bass is a marvelous instrument. The tone is incredible. Extremely distinct & full bodied notes. I will use it for recording unless someone comes forward with a very nice trade or cash. |

I think Darryl & Albey only made about 20 or so and the others I've seen are all different with other pickups....etc. The tone is truly fantastic. Maybe I should just call Tommy Shannon & be done with it. He loves these basses. Anyway I'll leave it up another day or two on the off chance a great 5 string trade comes up. After that, this one is probably going back in the vault. |
