Pre-EB 1979 Musicman Sabre, black/maple

Sign in to disble this ad
1979 MusicMan Sabre. Black/maple. Really nice axe, in the OHSC. One big bump, seen in pix. Otherwise, a few scuffs here and there but in very good shape for its age. G string tuner is slightly bent. Dates on neck heel and neck pocket clearly show 1979. Weighs about 9.6 lbs on my old analog postal scale.

SOLD

I believe that is an excellent price for that Bass. These are great instruments and they are getting harder and harder to find.
Pre EB Sabres and Singrays are the shiznit! I'd ask more if it were mine. GLWTS!

I know, I know... but everybody has its limitations. Especially in these days.

Expensive FOR YOU maybe.

Beautiful bass. If only my funds were not tied up in other basses, this would be mine!

I paid more for mine two years ago. A lot more. Consider a USA HAMER 12ver + 900 on my end. ( Couldn't play the Hamer for Crap so it just sat anyway )

DOOOO IIIIIITTTTTTT !!!!!

This bass is in great shape. I've seen much worse condition Sabres go for almost as much. Also, I see it has what looks to be all original switches. I don't see many PreEB models that haven't had at least one replaced.

Not really that expensive. These don't come on the market very often.

And this one looks to be in about as good a shape as you'll find for something of that vintage that's actually been PLAYED.

That thing is only a year younger than my Precision... which also is black-black-maple.

They would make a nice pair... sigh... alas...

Awesome bass and good price! 9.6 is pretty light for these basses - mine was well over 12lbs!

fyi, many of these 79s were actually 80s! Only way to know for sure is to pop the neck off and check the dates. Mine had a 79 neck and an 80 body.

I ran the serial number off the MM registry, and it was solidly in 79. If anyone is super intereted, I'll give them enough of the number and the website to check it out. But I'd rather not pop the neck if I don't have to.
