Precision A/E fretless w/upgraded electronics

Here's a MIJ/CIJ Precision A/E Fretless with Spruce top, Mahogany sides and back, Maple neck and Rosewood fingerboard. It's also had some major improvements in the typically marginal electronics. It has a much better piezo pickup that is buffered with a high impedance FET circuit, there's a normal pickup blend control and the stock preamp has been replaced with a 2 band Bartolini preamp. The stock Lace Sensor P pickup sounds great and hasn't been changed.
The bridge piezo pickup has been replaced with a more up to date piezo coax pickup that has a much more detailed sound without the clackiness of the stock pickup. The FET buffer allows the full range of the piezo to come through, so now you can actually use just the piezo pickup if desired. If you've ever played a stock A/E you probably found that all the stock piezo did was add some clicky finger noise to the Lace Sensor sound. The blend control allows you to pan between the two types of pickups normally so that you can now mix the two pickups in a more useful way. The Bartolini preamp gives you much more control of the EQ and has much less noise than the stock preamp. I'll include the original piezo and electronics with the bass, but I doubt anyone would want to use them.
The bass itself is in great shape. There are a few minor dings on the body, but the neck and fingerboard are excellent. It's got the old tilt neck adjustment so even though there's a fixed bridge, the truss rod and tilt give you full control over the relief and string height.
The only real down side of this bass is that the finish on the sides and back weren't prepped very well at the factory, so the sanding sealer under the finish is kind of blotchy in some areas.
The bass doesn't come with a case, but I'm a fanatic about careful packing and have a new heavy duty shipping box and lots bubble wrap and packing to make sure that it travels safely.
I'll have more photos available in the next couple of days and would be glad to take any detailed shots if you'd like.
The price is $550 shipped, payable by USPS Money Order or Paypal. Not interested in trades at this point.
US sale and shipping only.
