PRICE DROP !!!: 5-String Lined Fretless Carvin Kit-$425 Shipped

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey Folks,
This is the deal with this instrument. I recently purchased this form the second owner, who had gotten it from a local luthier who had built it. I ended up spending $100 on having the neck planed and leveled by NYC luthier Manny Salvador (builder of Bootsy's Star bass). The bass feels and sounds very nice. I am upgrading to a new fretless from Bass Central. this is a great instrument to get your "feet wet" on the fretless...it is easy to play(great action) and has a nice mwah.Shipped in well packed box in gig bag. Here are some pics.

That's crazy....there should be a washer beneath each one.

Bump for a nice looking fretless fiver!

I guess that is an omission from the original guy who built the bass. I will see if I can get some washers. The main thing is the bass feels and sounds nice. for under $500, its quite nice!

I was only kidding about the washers. Its still a sharp bass and the lined fretboard makes for a great set of "training wheels" for noobs like me.

Specs:
1.75" wide @ nut, 2.7" wide @ 22nd fret....I believe the bridge spacing is 17.5 mm...it is a Hipshot B-style, strings fed through body(if desired).

I have a Bunny Brunell version of this same bass and it has been with me for 15 years now. Love it.

Good luck with the sale!

The Bunny is pretty different from this one- wider, assym(I think..?)neck, neck-though(vs bolt-on), longer upper horn. Mind you I like Carvin stuff- I palyed a BB 5 & loved it.

Oh ya, didn't catch the Bolts.

You are correct about the differences but material and electronics wise it's similar to mine.

Got my money tied up in a couple of other things right now otherwise I would jump on this.
