PRICE DROP - Stellar Five String w OHSC - CHEAP!

Sign in to disble this ad
Anyone looking for an great playing bass in new condition with a nice case? It's a Stellar brand bass and case (Stellar is based in Florida from what I have read, but not sure if the bass was made there of overseas) . Both the bass and case are in new condition. Bass plays pretty damn good considering the price. Medium-low action, straight neck, NO scratchy pots, etc...

Heck, the new case alone is prob worth $100ish $. Case even comes with the original keys. I love how the bridget pickup is at the same angle as a Warwick Thumb and provides a similar vibe with the bridge pup is soloed. She could prob use some new strings as the originals are still on her and they are just a tad bit dull sounding. Pickups sound surprisingly good for a cheap bass. She also has a pretty decent hi-mass bridge on her. All around, a good bass for the money for sure. Plays well and sounds damn good. Price Drop to just $170 shipped conus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Edit: From the post way down below (thanks D.M.), it appears that this bass was made by Samick and marketed under different brands including "Stellar" and "New York Pro". In any case, most of us know that Samick makes good stuff and this bass is no exception...

Question

Good lord, what do I have to do to sell this bass, give it away for free with a case of beer??? It's a darn good player with good tone, in new condition with the original HSC (also in new condition). A solid playing, sounding & looking 5 banger with a nice hardshell for $170 shipped seems like a damn good deal to me.... People pay this much or much just for a nice case. I'm trying not to Ebay this one!

I'm tempted to buy it just for the case The case alone is $100 people. So you're getting a great looking bass, which you can chop up to your heart's desire, for $70! Hell you can't even get SX's for that cheap.

Yep, the case is nice. It has 4 latches and 4 hinges. Some of the newer junk cases only have 3 of each...

Don't suppose you'd want to trade it for an upgraded Squier Standard Strat?

That looks EXACTLY like my old New York Pro bass. I'm sure they were made by the same people. I've been told it was produced by Samick:

This is a steal for a beginner, back-up bass, or venture into low B territory... free bump!

Yep, that's the same EXACT bass for sure (even the bridge is an exact match). Heck, they even have the same strings on them! Same bass, different name. Samick makes good stuff... Thanks for the info Dave!

I just pulled the cavity cover and it's shielded, so I can't tell there. I have to leave for a gig now, but I can pull the neck and/or pickups tomorrow to try and tell.

Man i can tell u i had THE same bass as this one, with different headstock shape, and different branded.

It seems to be cheap, but it aint, it sounded killer! I sold it because i am not a 5 string guy, otherwise would keep it.

BUMP!

A "can't believe this is still here" bump! This would make an excellent backup or practice bass and honestly, it's also very solid and gig-worthy and could easliy be a primary bass for somebody on a budget!

Just tried. It's in the ball park, but not exact. THe amp or the D.I. used on the recording may also have something to do with the tone, but again, the bass is in the relative zone.
