!!!Price reduced!!! 1996 SDGR SR500 Priced to sell

Sign in to disble this ad
FS 1996 Ibanez SDGR SR500 SOLD

I gotta quit doing this. I came across two basses that were too good to pass up. I should receive them both this week so I need to sell this one in the name of marital bliss

I'm dropping the price from $300 to $175. Shipping is $10 Eastern US and $20 Western US. Firm..

Original listing:

I picked this up in a partial trade. I am quite impressed with the quality of such an inexpensive bass. However I just don’t need another fretted 4 string.

Description:

34” scale
24 frets
Active electronics
3pc Maple neck
Ibanez Pups
I’m not sure of the body wood. I’m guessing Bass or Alder. Some nice grain shows
through the translucent honey-amber finish
8.5 lbs on kitchen scale (would have guessed less then 8)
Skinny, slim neck 1.5” at nut

From what I can tell the controls are:
Volume
Pup sweep
Bass and Treble boost/cut (stacked)
Mid boost/cut with a mid frequency sweep (too many choices for me)

Condition:
Super for a 15 year old bass
A couple of small (pencil point) marks on the body front
Minor swirl in body back
The worst mark in on the back is a scratch about 5”. Not through the finish but can feel it if you run your fingernail over it. I tried to get a picture of it.
All pots are smooth and static free
Truss rod works and turns easily

Comes with a basic cordura Levys bag.

What they said! With the addition of:

That's in great shape!

The preamp in these is very versatile and has sweepable mids.
Anyone who wants a great sounding, great playing bass in good condition for REAL cheap... JUMP ON THIS!

It is in great shape. The guy was a guitar player and only recorded with it and he said he got it from a buddy that was going to learn but never did. It's hard to believe it's 15 years old.

what a deal ...i have a couple of sr800 basses that i love and i have a sr500 fretless but mine looks to have come with cheaper pick ups i think my fretless has dx pick ups something along those lines....im almost tempted!..i love the afr pick ups!

you should take a picture with the back cover off exposing the preamp!

Thanks for the suggestion, it gives me an excuse to replace the battery

I've always wondered, how do those older models with the P style pickup sound compared to the newer models with the soapbars?

I'm afraid I don't know. This is the only one I've played.
I do know that this bass has a very wide tonal range.
