Sorry for the relist - the title was wrong in the old one.

I have confirmed this is INDEED a pre- Ernie Ball Stingray.
Plays like BUTTA! Its true that the old 2 band EQ is MUCH smoother and more musical sounding than the new 3 bands.

Really like the bass - (the neck is the thinnest and most comfortable I have ever owned) but I just got a major GAS attack and this is the only bass I have that is really worth anything (of the basses that are sellable, that is).

Here is the original thread:

Vintage Musicman Stingray--PRICE DROP!!

I'll sell it, shipped to the lower 48 for $1,400...seriously.

What is causing your major GAS attack if I may ask?

(crosses fingers in hope that I have it)

Something that I just bought!

Anyhow, On a different note, I have recieved a few PMs asking about the finish - THE FINISH IS FINE!! It has a few dings and chips, but what would you expect from a 30 year old bass??

I think some people are confusing the wood grain for a finish flaw - on this particular bass the body was cut more WITH the grain than Against it - thus the broad dark grain patterns you are seeing. That dark blotchy looking stuff is THE GRAIN, not a finish flaw! It is boardering on Spalt - ya know that stuff that high end custom builders charge and arm and a leg for...

Just was playing this bass for a little while - it sounds way to good to let go. I'm going to table it for now.
