Exclamation Quad's Mega Bass Sale (the taxman cometh)!

Sign in to disble this ad
NO TRADES!!!!!!!

Prices below do not include shipping, but I will split shipping costs with you.

Up for sale is a USA made Music Man SUB Stingray bass, it is well used but still a perfect player. It has one small ding on the body, some paint fading from the neck, and is missing the pickguard (I think it looks better without it). However, these are merely visual and take nothing away from the playability of this bass. It features 2 band active electronics (what you can find on the new Classic Stingray series now and are the current hot setup for Stingrays), Ernie Ball strap locks and comes with a real Musicman hardshell case in excellent condition. Strap pictured not included. Pre-amp was recently serviced and had a cap or two replaced. Price is $450 FIRM!

************************************************** *****************************

Vintage 1980 USA made G&L L-1000 in amazing condition. This is one of the older and more rare ones with the "Lawsuit headstock". Bass was professionally converted to a L-2000E (extra pickup and route) and it's an expert job. Looks completely factory and original. Was refinished by the famous Pat Wilkins (literally, probably the best out there), which was very expensive. The new finish is FLAWLESS and beautiful! Neck has some crazy maple flaming font and back (simply stunning). Neck is maple/maple and body us a very sweet trans-black. Pre-amp is a Ken Smith w an added series/parallel switch. Lots of tonal options. GREAT bass!SOLD!! which is cheap for one of these especially in this condition! Very, very clean!!!!!! Pics ---> GL L1000 pictures by Quadzilla69 - Photobucket

************************************************** *****************************

USA Made Peavey Cirrus 5 String:
Neck thru body, redwood top (flamed), ebony in middle and ash back! 5 piece maple/ mahogany neck (neck-thru body). 3-band active EQ. Pro level bass. These sell for $1,500 - $2,500 new. Don't take my word for it, go check yourself, these are expensive. Two minor issues with this one. Headstock no longer has the carbon cover on it and there is a surface crack in the body that was professionally repaired . Neither effect anything functionally. Also has a few dings (nothing too major, but she plays GREAT and is pretty light too. I'll let this go for $625 firm EDIT - BASS ON HOLD FOR A TBER UNTIL FRIDAY 3/18 (original thread ---> http://www.talkbass.com/forum/f126/peavey-usa-cirrus-5-one-day-$675-shipped-718664/ )

************************************************** ****

Really nice Status Groove bass. I also have the original case (which is a Status-logod Hiscox Light Flight ATA case also made in the UK) and all of the paperwork and tools that came with her.

Neck is super straight, action is very low. No buzzes. Killer, I mean killer tone. I found some Youtube videos that somebody made (not me) that give you an idea of the tone.

YouTube - Status the groove bass. I want you back bass line
YouTube - Status the groove bass. FUNK/DISCO GROOVES

She's active/passive (via switch) and the knobs are vol / treb / bass

A few dings and scratches, but they are pretty much only the sides of the bass. It's a groove machine thanks to the tri-coil pickup. Pretty light (just over 8 lbs). Balances well!

SALE $649 for a real Status!!!! Most Status basses sell for 2 x 4 times this price (but they have Graphite necks).

************************************************** ***************

Last but not least (this one truly pains me)!

G&L Custom Order JB2. Just got this and I really thought that it would replace my Marcus, but I guess that I'm an active guy and the Marcus stays. Sick, low action. A real head-turner. Pretty light (I'm guessing under 9 lbs). NORDSTRAND PICKUPS!!!!!!! In near new condition with the exception of a finish lift by the neck pocket which was repaired (which is hard to see unless you are very close to the bass thanks to the sparkle finish). Comes with the original hardshell case and paperwork. $875

I am not into glitter but that JB2 looks great.
What's the weight and the nut width?
Are the PUps hum-canceling?

Weight is a very light 8.25 lbs (according to my postal scale).
Nut is 1.5" (standard Jazz width). Neck is VERY fast

I'll get back to you on the pickups.

I normally would Jonny, but (no offense intended) you have no feedback and very few posts here on TB. I took a similar risk a few years ago and got ripped off. So nothing personal against you, but I can't take that risk again.

Jb-2

Ok that's a fair comment, however if you receive payment up front from me surely the risk is mine in that you keep my money and don't send me the guitar?
