Exclamation Rare American Jazz Deluxe w Many Upgrades & OHSC + Case Candy

*not interested in trades unless your item is worth more than mine*

I have a MIA Jazz Deluxe that has a rare combination of body woods and finish. She also has some rather nice upgrades>

The woods and finish:
This version is made of alder sandwiched between two pieces of ash (see post #7 in this thread ---> Unusual Fender Color ). The trans-blue finish is also quite rare. I've only seen one other for sale here on TB (and it sold FAST). It's even more stunning in person as the camera really didn't pick up the greenish over-tone in the center than fades to all blue when it bursts out. Stunning!

Upgrades:
She has USA Fender Custom Shop Vintage 60's pickups installed (the pre-amp is still stock). THe pickups also have the brass plate behind them. Other upgrades are a Bad Ass II Bridge (which has the string-thru holes in it) and Grover Tuners (which turn very nicely). She also has Schaller strap locks installed. Looks like the original string retainer was upgraded to a string tee.

She comes with the OHSC, case candy and a allen key for the truss. The case is almost dead mint.

As far as condition, she has a few dings here and there and some very minor belt rash in the clear coat. She has some moderate fret wear on the frets in the lower register, but plays well. Neck is fast, tone is AWESOME (thanks to the pickup/preamp combination) and she is a LOOKER (simply gorgeous)!

All this for just $849 shipped and fully insured. Given that a new ash Deluxe is about $1500, the rare finish on this one, the hundreds of dollars in upgrades, etc, I'd say that's one hell of a deal.

I'm torn between this bass or a brand new Geddy

Really? Not a tough decision in my book. Plus this will be worth more in the future and Geddy's are a dime a dozen (they are everywhere). You don't see this finsh around much at all. Oh, this one is also active!

Looks like a really cool bass! If I didn't already have a jazz that wasn't getting enough playing time already, I'd definitely be looking at this. Looks like a great deal!

I noticed that your other thread was posted barely a week ago. Why do want to sell it so quickly after you bought it?

Was contiplating selling my other jazz and keeping this one, but I'm too attached to my other one I guess. Both are awesome. It's more of a sentimental thing....

Not that it matters, but that control plate cover (the little plastic thing that goes under the knobs) looks like it's from a P Deluxe Active Special or something along those lines...

Bump for a beautiful Fender though.

Huh, I guess it's possible Fender included the wrong little plastic reference card with the bass at the factory. Well, it's just a reference card anyway... In any case, it's just an extra that sits in the case and effects nothing... Thanks

Awesome bass, times are just slow.

Ebay is a good option, I have had better luck on there lately.

That's what I'm thinking. Bet ya she will sell internationally as that seems to be where a lot of the good basses are going (due to the exchange rate).

I wanted to add, I saw these basses new years ago, the pictures REALLY don't do them justice. Good luck either way.

Oh well, I tried to keep this in the TB community, but she has to go, so off to Evil Bay with her (at a higher reserve price)!

I have the Evil Bay listing created and it's scheduled to start this eve (at a higher reserve price). Bump for a TBer to grab her before the auction starts this eve.
