I have a MIA Jazz Deluxe that has a rare combination of body woods and finish. She also has some rather nice upgrades>
The woods and finish:
This version is made of alder sandwiched between two pieces of ash (see post #7 in this thread --->
Unusual Fender Color ). The trans-blue finish is also quite rare. I've only seen one other for sale here on TB (and it sold FAST). It's even more stunning in person as the camera really didn't pick up the greenish over-tone in the center than fades to all blue when it bursts out. Stunning!
Upgrades:
She has USA Fender Custom Shop Vintage 60's pickups installed (the pre-amp is still stock). THe pickups also have the brass plate behind them. Other upgrades are a Bad Ass II Bridge (which has the string-thru holes in it) and Grover Tuners (which turn very nicely). She also has Schaller strap locks installed. Looks like the original string retainer was upgraded to a string tee.
She comes with the OHSC, case candy and a allen key for the truss. The case is almost dead mint.
As far as condition, she has a few dings here and there and some very minor belt rash in the clear coat. She has some moderate fret wear on the frets in the lower register, but plays well. Neck is fast, tone is AWESOME (thanks to the pickup/preamp combination) and she is a LOOKER (simply gorgeous)!
All this for just $849 shipped and fully insured. Given that a new ash Deluxe is about $1500, the rare finish on this one, the hundreds of dollars in upgrades, etc, I'd say that's one hell of a deal.
