I had this bass for sale and then let the thread "lapse" since this is such a GREAT bass!
However, I am really wanting to add a fretted 55-94 to the family again.....there have been several available I have had to pass on due to lack of funds.....
SOMETHING has to go and, unfortunately, this is one that will allow me to gain the amount of money needed to buy the 55-94 I want.
So...here it goes:
2010 Lakland Double J (RARE - can only get via special order) with:
a) A special order Brazillian rainforest rosewood neck (this is not the "standard" beautiful Lakie rosewood neck....it came from a special piece of wood that only 2 necks were made from.....it is exceptionally beautiful...Carl mentioned to me that you do not find wood like this too often. The neck is also not bound....another rarity in lakies!
b) Hard to find (and exceptionally beautiful) Abalone blocks that match the teal color very well.....in fact the color of this bass was chosen due to the color in the abalone blocks. The sparkle of the teal really matches well with the glimmer of the blocks...
c) One of a kind Pedigo pickguard that accents the abalone blocks and the teal. this is the ONLY one like this....
d) Matching headstock for that "finishing touch"....
e) Pre-routed cavity in case you want to make it active.
I got this new in May/June of 2010 and it is really as like new (9.75 out of 10)!
Retail on this is over $4K (not to mention the headstock and pickguard)!
I will sell it to for $2500 shipped with a Lakie US case.
Here are a few pics:
Her is my friend Aaron doing his best Vanna White (at a recent Lakland GTG):
And here you can get a good idea of the "total package" (55-07 NOT for sale!):
another shot:
And....here are shots of some of the blocks so you can "kind" of see the depth and color to them:
WILL CONSIDER TRADING FOR 55-94 DELUXE!
Additonal pictures/different pictures available upon request!
thanks for looking!
