Rare Vintage 1967 Vox Astro IV bass in excellent 100% original condition.
This was a one owner bass that came to me with the original flat wound strings on it ! A true "closet classic". It does have the normal weather checking that is common to this era Vox guitars, is missing 3 of the chrome "caps" on the original knobs, and has a small area on the top/back edge that has been touched up; but cosmetically you will be hard pressed to find one cleaner...
Tone ?
This bass features built-in effects that include a G tuner, treble/bass booster, and "distortion" which is a very cool fuzz effect powered by the BC 108 transistor which was also used in the original 1960's Dallas Arbiter Fuzz Face pedals.
It sounds and plays incredible and every effect works perfectly and quietly. Super RESONANT and it has just been professionally set-up - the intonation and the action are perfect also. Ready to gig right out of the box !!
Includes the original Vox case (still has the original VOX tag on it !) that is missing handle & 2 of the clasps for the latches. The latch-clasp would be an easy fix ( see this months Vintage Guitar magazine for to tutorial on how to do it yourself)
