Final price drop! $1200 plus actual shipping cost. Paypal. I will ship international if you cover the cost. Not selling it for any less; I'd rather keep it than give it away.
I find myself with too many 4-strings again so this has to go. This is a rare bass! Occaisionally one pops up on E-bay with a BIN of $2500 or more. I need cash but might trade for a nice 5-string or vintage G&L or 2-band Ernie Ball Stingray (not interested in another Warwick). Deets:
- 1988 Warwick Streamer Stage 1
- neck-through, wenge neck with maple stringers, maple body wings
- wenge fingerboard, 24 frets
- brass just-a-nut, brass frets, brass bridge & tailpiece, gold hardware
- EMG reverse PJ active pickups
- MEC 2-band preamp
- rare gloss black finish
- weight is 9.8 lbs
- comes with a Warwick truss rod wrench and the pictured hard case, which is beat up but still works.
A previous owner was a touring musician that travelled all over North America in the 90's, judging by the finish wear and the stickers on the case. This bass has been much-played and much-loved, for good reason. It sounds beautiful, dark with rich harmonics and long sustain. You can dial up some nasty Spector-like bite with the treble cranked, or deep pillowy lows with the bass cranked. This is the same type of bass that Stuart Zender of Jamiroquai used in the early 90's, so if you like that tone, this is your axe.
This bass is a player! There is a great deal of mojo in the finish, but the back of the neck is super-smooth. I'm pretty sure it has had a re-fret or a fret dressing because there is only light wear in the lower positions. The neck is straight with nice action. The truss rod is new (they are replaceable on this model, without having to take the neck apart). Also has a new output jack, new pickup height springs, new Schaller strap locks and fresh strings. It's clean and ready to play.
This bass is currently at a consignment shop. If a TB'er buys this I will tell the shop to take it down but because they are not open late during the week I can only pick it up on the weekend.
