Relic Franken BEAD Bass Jazz neck/ PJ body

Sign in to disble this ad
I am pretty sure this is not a Fender despite the decal.

I got these various bass parts a few years ago, I am not sure of the actual origin, but I am pretty sure it is an allparts neck and a squier body (going by the neckplate)

The body has been broken and glued back together, giving it a kinda hollow sound. It is stable, been like this for years.

The pickups are Fender 60s CS Jazz and a Fender US P pickup

Harness was custom made by Bayou Cables with a two way switch for either P or J, not both. Orange drop cap, CTS pots.

It is set up BEAD currently and strung with TI Jazz flats.

The bass has been like this for about 5 years and despite it being a bit of an abortion, it kills on tone and playability.

Set up low for a light touch.

I just need to make room, so $350 + shipping.
Sorry, no trades, I need to thin out.
Please pm with any offers.
Does not come with the case, but will be shipped in a gig bag.

I wanted to emphasize that this bass is set up for BEAD tuning. If you don't already have a BEAD bass, this is a great way to get that low B without a huge neck.

It has the low four strings from a 5 string set installed, so the nut has slightly wider string slots to accommodate the larger strings.

Plus, if you play in a lot of jams or do some subbing, I have found that it is helpful to learn songs in a closed position, this makes it very easy to change keys for different singers without having to re-learn the song.

Where did the break in the body occur?

The body was broken at the backside. The break came thru the neck pocket but not all the way thru. It never actaually broke apart. Wood glue was injected in the crack with a syringe and the body was clamped.

Yeah ugly. I will post some detailed pix since this is probibly interesting.

It has been that way for about 5 years, there are absolutly no tuning stability issues. It just looks beat to heck.
