I'm toying with the idea of letting my all original and clean '78-79 jazz go for the right price or cash/trade combination. It's all original and in fantastic shape.
Definitely one of the good ones, but I just ran into some money needs and would like to cash in on some of this bass' value (hopefully within the $400-$700+ range, depending).
- Absolutely marvelous tone that can't be duplicated.
- Exceptionally light, right around 9.75lbs with minimal finish checking (only on the back, see pics below).
- Pristine neck, meaty frets, working bullet rod, sets up very well.
- Unmolested electronics, original solder points, pads beneath original grey-bottom pups are squashed, but original (so I don't want to replace them)
- Neck pocket not the tightest, but I've seen worse
- Beautiful faded brown-sunburst over sweet grained ash (which might be a one-piece) w/maple neck and white binding.
- Authenticity verifiable w/ OHSC (matching serials on headstock and untouched sticker beneath pickguard say 1978, pots say 1979)

Line #5 R. Govea
- Has all the original screws, thumbrest and F-bridge cover with mute intact!
- Replacement chrome pup cover, if you want it
- Would throw in a '75 reissue PG in white, if you like a different look
- Picks in the sunlight really bring out the brown; from afar and in normal light, looks more like a traditional sunburst
- A real beauty, now wearing DR Sunbeams....delicious!
