Relisted: "Vintage" '89 Stingray 5 Now for Sale

Hey y'all-this is a fantastic playing bass. Incredible stingray tone and really dynamic EQ(which is 3-band). This bass is from the second year of manufacture of the 5 strings. She's a players bass-lots of nicks and scuffs here and there, nothing too serious at all. Just normal player wear, and for good reason-this bass kills and the low B is the best i've ever played (who says u need a 35" scale?). I've used it on one week long tour and it sounded incredible every night. It's heavy, looks like the body may be one solid piece of ash, and it's around the 12 lb mark. My Sadowsky neo-tech strap definitely helped while gigging with this beast. The finish is very hard to photograph but it's a very subtle blue/teal translucent burst. Definitely some shades of aquamarine/green in there and darker blue edges. Everything is stock right now. Strings are an older set of nickels with a very fat b-string. I am about to have the board and electronics in for a cleaning by my local luthier. I am in a bind financially right now and unfortunately have more use of my 4 strings than this baby. I will do $975 shipped in a semi-hard gigbag and well-packed box. Please, I am not interested in trades at this time. It will be available in a couple days-my luthier has a busy schedule and i want everything nice and clean for the next owner. I will throw in the VG condition Sadowsky neo strap(long) for 20 bucks extra. Hopefully the pix link shows in detail the finish and condition. Thanks for looking!
Cheers

Would you consider taking the neck off and posting via USPS to Australia?

Cheers Bill

I had the cousin of this bass (trans-red '89 SR5). These are very nice basses -- the AlNiCo pups are much sweeter than their ceramic counterparts.

Shipping to Australia may not be so feasible right now, I would prefer a domestic sale. Thanks for your interest, though.

Bump for More detailed pics and info...

Just got it back from the shop. Fretboard was thoroughly cleaned and oiled. Frets were polished and they are in great shape. Nut was properly filed. All pots and controls were cleaned, lubed and sprayed. Body and neck finishes were thoroughly cleaned-it needed it! My luthier friend confirmed the year with a quality control sticker located in the control cavity. Weighs in a tad more than 11lbs on the bathroom scale. Bass feels and looks better than ever and is set up with medium-low action. I added some pics by request of the neck scuffing at the headstock and some finish dings on the neck. This is a great bass that will make someone very happy! The only trade i am interested in is a Lakland Skyline Hollowbody-straight up. Thanks again for looking and happy almost turkey day, yall! Edit: Also a One-piece ash body-she's a beast!
