SOLD! Note: please post all questions, inquiries, etc on this "megathread": Survivor: Bass Island - 30 Days, 29 basses for sale, only one will remain - Updated!
This is a 2005(?) Renaissance RB5FL 5-string in sunburst. Don't know much about the woods/pickups used, but I've called/emailed them for specs. Looks like all mahogany to me, but I'll post specs when I get a response. Here are the specs from the Renaissance website:
- Cedar top with clear poly finish, .008" film thickness.
- Walnut or cherry back and sides finished with oil-modified urethane.
- Full faux tortoise binding.
- Turner-designed piezo bridge pickup with 18 volt Highlander pre-amp.
- Low noise volume and tone controls.
- Lined fretless maple neck (fretted also available) with hand-rubbed oil finish.
- Graphite/epoxy neck reinforcement bars.
- Dual-action truss rod.
- 21-fret rosewood fingerboard with New Zealand Paua shell dots and side fret markers.
- 35" scale, nut width 1.75"
- Faux tortoise headstock trim.
- Hipshot Ultalite tuners.
This bass sounds amazing; can really nail that upright tone, but the pickups combined with the Thomastik-Infeld nylon core strings give this bass a very unique feel and sound. If it were a 34" scale, 17-18mm spaced instrument, I'd be keeping it, but again, 35" scale/19mm bridge spacing no worky for me. But I just had to try this bass and I'm glad I did. This bass is in mint condition; some super tiny clearcoat scratches on the edges, but that's about it. Strings are original and are worn, but they sound better like that.
Selling this bass for $1400 shipped in the continental US w/gig bag (Kaces III faux leather, nicely padded. International shipping is fine, just PM me for a ship quote. PayPal is preferred. No trades right now (unless it's REALLY good!). Current list price on these basses is around $3K.
