REPOST:1985 Westone Spectrum GT Bass MIJ Matsumoku Era With Pics PRICE DROP!

Sign in to disble this ad
Well I have been putting it off but I am going to part with this fantastic bass....

These basses were produced in Japan from 1985-1988.

Serial # 5082732,which indicates that it was manufactured during the 1st year of production

This one is red.

It has a thumbrest added as well but it looks to be from the time period the bass was made or even from the factory....

Here is a link with more information.....

http://www.westone.info/spectrumgtbass.html

It is in very good condition considering the age and has a nearly endless array of different sounds due to the phase reversal system(push-pull on the tone control)dual tone controls and the MagnaBass Pickups. It also features a 3 way pickup selector switch(this needs to be cleaned as it is somewhat scratchy when switching positions)

One of the best sounding passive basses EVER!

I am asking $420 shipped in the lower 48 states

I will ship overseas for $520 including shipping

Please call or email for more information

Thanks For Looking!

When I first started out playing, I borrowed one of these from a guy for a while. It was identical to that one - I haven't seen one of these in probably 10-11 years. Wow.

My first bass!! 1985. It was completely destroyed sometime during my college years. Too bad.

Out of nostalgia I bought one a few years ago (same color) in dead mint condition. I love it! It's the 1 bass I have w/ roundwounds.

It's no Alembic.. but my favorite sound out of it is that John Entwhistle deep & bright two finger sloppy slappy sound.

Bump for a COOL bass!

oh, aceofbass - it's a graphite neck w/ a truss rod. I've never had to adjust mine.

The site says it is a hard maple neck with a rosewood board.

I saw that on the site too, but the guy who I borrowed one from swore at the time (ten years+ ago) that it was graphite.

I took another close look there's definitely wood surrounding the truss rod nut. Maple neck!

The westones were wood necks if I remember right. With that graphite feeling coating on the neck. Some of the bodies had an almost plastic feeling finish as well. This was a good era for Westones. I had a bass and a few guitars that played great.
