Back up due to non-payer...
As-new Squier Classic Vibe Jazz. Any color you like so long as its Arctic White! This bass has had a professional, full shielding job done with copper foil. Huge difference. No noise whatsoever. Also, the extra sticky finish on the back of the neck has been sanded down and sealed with Butchers Paste Wax (of Stuart Spector Fame). The neck is far more playable and fast now, worlds better than the factory finish. The vintage tint remains and there is no discernible transition between the wax finish and the factory poly. This bass has no marks or scratches anywhere, and is truly in as-new condition
I've also wired in better pots, and the bass comes with a set of the Amazing Dimarzio Ultra-Jazz Pups. Ive tried just about everything out there, and these are the hottest, grindiest jazz pups available IMHO. The sound is HUGE. Bass will ship with the stock pickups separate, and a new Fender Gig bag.
If you snoop around TB a little you'll see that there's a huge amount of love for this bass.... even earning a good many MIM Fender converts. These basses are not built by Squier, but are now being built by CORT in the same factory as the Lakland Skylines, Cort GB's etc. I skipped on a MIM fender Jazz in favor of this because it genuinely sounded and played better, and with the new Pups it just KILLS. There is like $300 worth of upgrades in this bass now. Cash Price is $300 +Shipping CONUS. Price is FIRM.
This bass was sold on a 3 way deal, with the payment going to another TB'er for purchase of another instrument. The buyer backed out after the deal was set so, I either sell it for $300 or I dont sell it. If you're the type of TB'er (you know who you are) who simply wont buy a bass for the asking price no matter how fair, just out of principle, then the asking price is $350
More and better pics on request:
Make me a happy camper TB!

Thanks. | 8lbs on the bathroom scale.... although I cant vouch for the accuracy... I'd say 9 lbs max... Its the lightest jazz bass Ive owned. A quick search shows much the same opinion elsewhere on TB. Quote:

| | Will work for groove | | Join Date: Jul 2007 Location: Middletown, OH | | | These are very nice basses. I picked the one I have over all of the MIM and several MIA basses. You really don't need to change a thing on these. And they balance very well on a strap too.

And they balance very well on a strap too. | In all honestly, maybe the two Ive played have been "Lucky Shots"... but these have noticeably superior fretwork when compared to the MIM Fenders. The fretboards seem of better wood also. Ive seen brand new MIM fenders with wide splits almost all the way through the rosewood... Even the body routes are cleaner and have less chatter and fray. When played next to the VMJ fretted, the stock pups have a lot more natural booty than the Duncan Designs in the 70's VMJ. I found myself turning the tone knob down on the VMJ and boosting bass on my amp.
With the Dimarzio's... I run tone wide open and have no need for EQ at all... its just my sound right out of the box. the mids really grind with these. With both pups wide open the slap sound on this bass is just about as good as it gets. Eyes closed I'll stack this up against the Marcus Miller any day with these mods.

On that note, do you have any pictures of the neck? I'm just curious what the back of it looks like and if the headstock is still glossy. Your description says that its much faster and looks the same as the stock neck. That's pretty darn cool. I was never really bothered by the glossy finish, to be honest, but a quicker neck is tempting.
These basses are awesome! Here's a free bump. |

The vintage tinet was below the poly.. so its just the back of the neck sanded down, gloss remains elsewhere. There is no visible transition between the satin and the gloss...

Squier, MIM Fender J basses
G&L Tribbies
Cort Curbow
Lakland Skylines
Yamaha
Can add small cash for the right trade
No P-basses, ESP LTD, ibanez, or SX (unless modded with top of the line electronics)
