First up is a Rickenbacker 2030 bass. Its got a black body and neck with a rosewood fret board. I think the pickups are humbucking and they have a fairly high output. There is a volume and tone for each pickup as well as a 3 way switch. It sounds like a Ric and can be really punchy.
I got the bass off ebay and the truss rods had been incorrectly tightened down so much it was pushing the spacer under the fretboard and prying it off the neck. It was pretty much unplayable. I heated the neck and removed the fretboard, chiseled out the crushed wood, glued in new maple, and reglued the fretboard. I also made a new spacer out of a block of steel. Its bigger and won't pry up the fretboard again. I then tightened the truss rods in the "correct" Ric fashion, which is to loosen the rods, bend the neck to the relief you want, then tighten them down. So far its held fine and the action is pretty low. The result of this work is that the paint along the neck is chipped and it looks ugly. The precious Ric truss rod cover is also missing. Really, I've never cared too much since its playable. I've always wanted to put a jazz neck on it but have never gotten around to it. Still, the RickenFender would be cool. Comes with the beat up stock case. See pics for details.
$450 - or make me an offer.
The second bass up is a Peavey Foundation FL. The body is in great shape. I planed and sanded the neck to remove a bit of a ski jump it had. Now it plays great and has a ton of mwah to it. Comes with Peavey case and newly installed GHS Precision flats.
$Gone!
I'd be interested in trade offers as well. Things I'd be interested in include an unlined fretless jazz neck, an onboard preamp for a jazz, a good playing 5 string, or partial trade for a bongo or dingwall

On the clip is -> scales from front pickup, both pickups, rear pickup - tone wide open on all of them
Then I added a few samples with the front pickup only with the tone turned down varying amounts. The last line is rear pickup only with tone down a smidge.
Also, in the interest of full disclosure I notices a couple small chips on the Peavey's fretboard. They are north of the 15th fret and don't affect its playability. Its also got new GHS Precision flats on it. |

For anyone interested the Ric weighs about 10 lbs too.
