I'm not using this as much as I thought I would now that i'm back into playing URB, so I'd rather this go to a good home where it will be used. First off, here's a link to the previous owner's thread: For Sale: Rick Turner Ren5
And in case you miss it, a link to photos: http://smg.photobucket.com/albums/v8...%20For%20Sale/
These basses are amazing instruments from every angle. Excellent playability, unique design approach, and most importantly, the ability to cop a TON of different fretless sounds. The much desired 'mwah' and growl are there in spades, and if you turn up the active tone knob a little bit, the sound is complex and detailed. Leaving the tone knob turned off and plucking by the neck achieves, IMO, a very passable miked-URB/EUB sound on the bandstand.
Comes with a gig bag (I'll pack it so well it'll still be in tune!!), and I'm asking $1200 shipping and paypal fees incl. To the Contl US only
The ONLY trade I'd consider, plus some cash my way, is one of those roadworn 50's pbasses in two-tone burst.
Thanks for looking!!!! |

Top-notch in every regard.

This one would be perfect for the conversion as it is unlined. Cut an inch off the bottom. Change the side dots and your good to go. |

That sounds like a little more skill than the typical DIY project. The 35" scale doesn't really bother me. The playability of the neck makes up for the extra stretch. |

Just cut it off and made new screw holes in the back. Of course there was some sanding to make it nice. I just used a jigsaw.
The two finished basses. One with TI acousticores, the other LaBella black nylon flats for two great fretless sounds. |
