SOLD - On it's way to Idaho.
Up for sale is my 1973 RICKENBACKER 4001 BASS. Serial number MI XXXX dates YOM to September 1973.
Couple of dings here and there and some belt buckle rash on the back that didn't penetrate the surface. The most egregious ding is on the side of the body next to the neck. Looks like the original owner tried to "beautify" it.
The bridge PUP has been replaced with a Bartolini. The tailpiece bridge was replaced with a steel HipShot direct fit replacement simply for intonation and sound purposes. The original bridge was NOT lifting and I have it to include. The wavy Grover tuners work well and are still pretty shiny and well preserved. Action is excellent and frets are fine. I do not have the pickup cover or the original case. I will include a heavy duty Gator Case thats fit this perfectly and will protect it well during shipping. This bass itself has been very well cared for and climate controlled storage in my house for 20+ years.
Since this is no longer in original condition, I will let it go for
$1700 (FIRM) plus shipping. I'd entertain a trade offer for a high end 5 string bass with cash from me if warranted.
