Rickenbacker 4003S/5 Five String Bass

This is a rare 5 string Rickenbacker. Made in 1986. It has definitely been played and has the wear to prove it. The white color has yellowed pretty significantly. There is a lot of checking in the finish, along with some finish cracks. These are not wood cracks, just in the paint.
It sounds great. The toaster pickup is nice and smooth, and the bridge pickup has a good growl to it. I just put a set of SIT nickels on it.

That is a discontinued model in a discontinued color and the black trim is discontinued as well.

What is the string spacing on this?

The string spacing at the bridge is 2 1/8" ... but is can be modified to 2 3/8". I modded several 4003s5 basses that I owned to a wider string spacing.

The 4003s5 has a nice single coil growl on the low B.
