Rickenbacker 4003SPC ("Naked") Tuxedo
While preparing my book over the last eight years or so, I accumulated quite a few Rickenbacker basses. I'm no longer an active player, and I'd like to see the collection distributed to folks who want/need/appreciate a good Rick!
There were likely 125 Tuxedos made back in 1987, one of the new 4003SPC monochrome specials. The true "Tuxedo" was painted white overall with black trim and hardware. Even the maple (!) fingerboard was painted white and had tiny black "pin dot" position markers.
I bought this Tux from Erik Kutzler in 2011 when it had its clothes on - - the icky yellowed white paint just didn't do it for me, so I sent it to Larry Davis for stripping and revealing all the mapley goodness underneath. Larry put on a nice satin clear coat and reinstalled the black stuff. If you want your Maple, this has as much as you can get! I think its better than the original color concept! I call it the "Naked Tuxedo."
Price is firm at $3000 with case (plus shipping). No trades, no lower offers.
