Smile Rickenbacker 4080 Bass/Guitar Doubleneck

Sign in to disble this ad
SOLD SOLD SOLD!!!

Ok here goes...

For Sale or Trade: 1980 Rickenbacker 4080 Doubleneck: (Serial # TF2169)

I bought this instrument in 1999 because I was in a prog rock band. Well the band didn't work out and it's been sitting in it's case in my closet for 10 years. It is all-original and in very good condition, but not mint condition. The minor scratches/nicks are shown in the pics below.

Asking Price: $5000.00

Willing to consider for trade or trade + cash

Alembic 5 string (but not an Epic)
Pre-Gibson Tobias 5 string
Modulus Q5 (but with Barts, not with EMG's)
Willing to consider other playable 5 strings if they strike my fancy.
A Rickenbacker 4003 converted into a 5 string (if there happens to be anyone around who does that sort of thing )

Here are the pics:

Here are the disclosures:

There are some very small scratches on the back of the necks and guitar headstock:

There is a small nick on the side, didn't get this one too good in the pic:

There are some small nicks on the top of the bass headstock:

There is some corrosion on the screws on the guitar bridge:

There are also some very slight scratches on the back, too small to get in a picture

Also, the "Rickosound" lettering on the jack plate is partially rubbed off.

Here it is in the hardshell case. I am not sure if it is the original case, but I think it could be...

Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks for looking!

Double Trouble!! I've never seen one of these. Awsome. If only I could justify possession of this double headed dragon.

I believe it's the same electronics you'd find in a 480, which is why the instrument is a 4080.

OK, can you just hold on for about 18 months? I will be out of my maintenance/child support agreement then and I'd gladly drop several months' worth of salary on this. Holy cow you are making me sick with jealousy. That is a gorgeous instrument, would NICELY complement my FG 4001, and I have ALWAYS wanted one of these.

Gawd, I'm going to go curl up in a fetal position and cry for a little bit. Then I'm going to try to figure out how to score $5k real fast -- without breaking the law, of course.
