Rob Allen Deep 4

Sold

It is with regret that I offer my Rob Allen Deep 4 for sale.

This was custom made for me in 2005. I wanted the closest I could come to an upright like sound in a bass guitar and this bass IMO fits the bill. Wonderful woody sound

I found myself using a full upright more and more and when I use an electric I want a more electirc sound.

I really couldn't bear to part with the bass but it was build to be played.

FYI I compared Deep 4s to the standard Rob Allen models. The Deep 4 was to my ears noticably better sounding. The standard models are good too but it was worth the extra for the Deep 4.

Alder body
Quilted Maple top
Cocobolo finger board (originally red but now blackish due to use)
Schaller straplocks
Drop D tuner
includes case
Separate bass and treble controls along with volume built into bridge.
The face of the board is mostly unlined but there are little linelets right along the bass side of the board.
More pics available upon request.

This cost me $4K. I doubt his prices have gone down any.
$2800 and $30 shipping if you don't pick it up.

I am in San Jose Ca. You are welcome to play it if you are in this area. Check out my ebay feedback.

Now I understand my wish for the afterlife.

To be reincarnated as a mutant.

If I were born with three kidneys, I could sell two.

And be prepared to go Deep whenever the opportunity arose.

These just don't seem to come up for sale very often. Much delicious beauty.
