I wish this was a 4 string. I am so looking to get a Rob Allen. I've tried the EUB thing and my hand just hurts too much. I don't want to do any more damage. No problem with a 5 string, but I have had hand issues in the past with 35" scale basses. Argh.

I had the same worries, but am finding that for some reason the RA 35" scale doesn't really play that much different than my Sadowsky 34" scale. Something about being fretless and the body geometry I think.

The Rob Allen really does feel like a 34" because the bridge is at the end of the bass. If you look at the pics, you can see the length of the neck is the same as the other 2 which are 34".

Well, maybe it would be worth a try. People say that about a lot of 35" scale basses and they've always been the same to me. I just sold a Lakland and Modulus for that reason.

I think I'm going to give this a try. Hopefully the scale length won't be an issue for me.
