Serial #177, this is a fretted 6 string MB-2. Maple top and Cocobolo fingerboard. Not certain of the neck wood combo, but this is an incredible sounding bass. Ships in a Rob Allen soft case and comes with a brand new set of Labella Nylon wound strings. Weighs approx 7 lbs. Scale is 35", but due to the bridge position, feels just like a 34". $2400 shipped within USA

Is it possible to put standard steel (or nickel) roundwounds on this bass, or does it have to be the tapewounds?
Also, any chance you're interested in any trades? PM me if yes, I've got a lot of stuff that's going to go to market very soon. |

Come down anyway, the 90-degree weather has finally broken. If you could somehow get down here in 2 hrs you could check out my gig |

If not sooner I'll be down in August once or twice. I want to get down there before school starts up again. I'll let you know! I need to start spending some more time down that way in general. |

The neck is probably koa. |

Good luck with the sale, and someone please buy this thing. I think I'm safe, if only because my fear of buying anything sound-unheard, but nonetheless, a few questions if you don't mind:
Intonation? Any issues, particularly with chording up high? I've got to wonder if the fixed bridge makes this a task toward the art of compromise?
Confirmation on woods? Rob has always responded quickly to my emails, so maybe if you wouldn't mind a quick round of communication with him we'd know for sure.
Any chance of sound clips? I'd love to hear this bass, even in a living room solo setting.
And finally, I know you haven't mentioned any trade interests, but could you confirm/deny?
Thanks, and good luck with the transaction. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
