Rob Allen Mouse 30 For Sale

Sign in to disble this ad
I am selling my well-loved, gently used Mouse 30 (#657) that was made by Rob in June 2007. I switched to upright in 2008 and find that my small brain can't handle the switch between upright fingerings and those required for a short-scale bass.

I am the original owner and bought the bass for it's legendary woolly upright-like sound. Body is Alder with Walnut top and Goncalo alves fingerboard (fret lines, but this is a fretless bass). It is a beautiful instrument and plays great. The photos posted here were taken by Rob before he shipped the bass to me. Other than a small scratch on the back access panel (probably a buckle scratch) she still looks this good. View photos at https://picasaweb.google.com/jeffrey...eat=directlink

I am asking $1700 which includes the pro tec case designed for the Mouse 30 and an extra set of La Bella wrapped short-scale strings.

Thanks

Clarification

Sorry, not interested in BG trades. Using proceeds to purchase a Merchant Vertical as a backup to my upright. Thanks!

Wink Change in pricing

I should have looked checked pricing more carefully. Thanks for the PM about this. I'm reducing my Mouse 30 to $1500 and still including bag and strings.

Depends on how quickly you want to sell as well as options, etc. Just because one sold dirt cheap (that had to be shipped from overseas, essentially increasing the purchase price) doesn't mean that yours is necessarily worth less. I sold my Mouse not too long ago for $1900, but it had some options on it. Frankly for a clean Mouse, anywhere between $1500 and $2K is reasonable depending on the details. But the market will speak

Completely agree with you and I think the market will speak quickly on this one. I checked out your sold Mouse -- you really did have some nice upgrades. These are really unique instruments. Appreciate the input!

As a point of reference, I just bought another used Mouse (fretless) with upgraded top, black hardware, etc for $1750 shipped (it never got advertised - some of these never make it to an ad). That one from HK that sold cheap was likely due to the shipping and customs issues that accompanied the purchase. Had that been for sale in the US, no way it would have gone anywhere near the final sale price.

Best of luck with the sale - these are truly special instruments. I gigged my Deep5 last night and was reminded of how amazing it is.
