Rockinbetter Bass with checkered binding!

Now this is sweet and absolutely kills me to sell but I need the money

Here's the lowdown,
I've owned this bass for 3 months and bought it on a trip to California brand new. It's neck-thru, 22 fret, Checkered binding, and a beautiful natural color. I have 2 real rics and this thing definately compares but has more of a jazz sound and quite a bit thinner neck. It is in near perfect condition, just a few light scratches here and there but overall a 9.8/10. Any questions please ask.

Asking $575.00 obo with shipping and gig bag. Trade wise im on the lookout for 80s Fender jazz bass specials or something of the sort.

Nope. Tokai is a Japanese company. I think some of their guitars are made in Korea, but not in China, I don't think. Anyway, this is not one of those crappy alibaba.com set-neck things at all.

Tokais are made in Japan, Korea, and China; it depends on the model. I'm not sure about this one, though.

Wow. I had no idea when I clicked on the thread that the checkered binding would be so classy looking!

Very cool bass and a good price for a rick copy if this is a good quality bass. I sold my 70s Ibanez copy for more than this and it was a bolt on.

Thumbs down

Hi there,

Glad you were able to sell the bass, it looked really nice, albeit a bit darker in colour than the Rik natural finish model.

I'm not surprised it didn't quite have that 'Rik' sound but given that it was fitted with a Jazz Bass type pickup then no surprise it sounded a bit 'Jazz' like!

All the best.
