I usually get a pass on that one (MOST of the time, at least) because the roof over our heads was largely paid for by my bass playing.

Sadly, this is not the case with me. For now, it's just a hobby I enjoy at home myself. I tried meeting local musicians using CL ads, but nothing really materialized or clicked. I'll try again, but for now, I'm just enjoying the instruments myself.

Nothing wrong with that. It's just a little harder when the instruments you enjoy are Roscoe's and not Rogue's.

I have one Roscoe in the house, one on order and am lusting after a third. I play in church a few Sunday's a month and maybe an occasional fill in gig. No real income.
