Roscoe LG-2005 refinished

Sign in to disble this ad
*** SOLD ***

Hi TBers, up for sale is a Roscoe LG-2005 five string. This model was made in the mid-1990s and had a short production run. Professionally refinished with nitrocellulose lacquer, in a nice vintage cherry sunburst. Ash body (I think), maple neck & fingerboard, Wilkinson bridge, EMG pickups. Controls are volume, blend, stacked bass/treble.

The neck is straight and it plays great with a very low action. Intonation is spot on. The frets have been leveled and dressed, but they are pretty low. I doubt there is room to file them again; the next time significant fret wear occurs it will probably need to be refretted. Probably not an issue unless you are an aggressive slap style player; I just want to be up front about everything.

It has the characteristic Roscoe sound, very modern & midrangy.

35" scale, weight is 9.5 pounds.

New Roscoe 5-strings sell for $2200 and up. Get this one for much less!

$1000 shipped in USA lower 48.

Ships with Body Glove gig bag, no hard case.

Thanks for asking, but I'm trying to rationalize my gear inventory right now. I'd strongly prefer a cash sale.

Even though it's got a Wilkinson bridge ... what's the current string spacing? Width @ the nut would be nice too.

String spacing is set at about 18mm right now, with a bit of room to adjust it in either direction. Width at the nut is 1 3/4 ".

The bass is active, but there doesn't seem to be a separate preamp module. All the active circuitry must be in the pickups themselves (except for the control pots of course).
