Roscoe LG3005 - Exhibition Burl Maple / Cocobola / Straight Bart CB's / Demeter

Sign in to disble this ad
Here's a beautiful 2008 Roscoe LG3005 in excellent condition that I just acquired in a trade. I've owned 6 Roscoes, played dozens more, and this is one of the nicest I've ever laid my hands on. Bass was spec'd and built for TB'er Joe Meyer (JOME77), and he did a mighty fine job! The Bart CB's and Demeter preamp is my favorite Roscoe electronic configuration to date; even better than the Nordstrands, IMO. The Demeter really opens up the top end, and the CB's get rid of the compressed mids the standard Roscoe electronics have. Bass takes a really nice, low setup. Bass has no dents, dings, and I really don't even see any swirls on it. Minty fresh.

This is the 50th bass I've owned, and it's just time for me to settle down. Zon and MTD basses are what work for me, so I'm sticking with those two brands from now on.

Specs:

- Spanish Cedar Body
- Exhibition Burl Maple Top
- Maple / Purpleheart / Maple Neck
- Cocobola Fingerboard - WOW!
- Straight Bartolini CB Pickups
- Demeter Preamp
- 35" scale, standard Roscoe Spacing (18.3)
- MOP Roscoe Logo on Headstock
- Gig Bag
- 8 pounds!!

Hear it here!!

$2350 shipped in the Continental US. Overseas shipping available, but all shipping, taxes, duty cost is on you. I won't lie about the value of the instrument, so please don't ask.

I would really, really prefer an outright sale, but given the state of things these days I can accept trades that send at least $1500 cash my way. Trades I would like would be Fender Roadworn J or P, small Hi-Fi combo (GB, MB, PJB, etc.) for the bedroom, or a Boss GT10-B. Feel free to run other gear by me, but no exceptions on the amount of cash I need.

Finally, some pictures.

Bummer that it didn't satisfy the itch Jason! I thought for sure that this one would do it for you. All you guys from LA must just dig the more aggressive sounding tone of ash.

Folks this is easily the finest playing Roscoe 5 string that I've ever played. It was a tough decision letting this one go but my Roscoe 6 string is getting all of the playing time.

Bump for an awsome TB'er and a truely great bass!

+1. I've played this bass. Super low action with no buzz. Great round Spanish Cedar tone

Thanks guys, it is indeed a great Roscoe. I'm going back to Zon's for now; I miss that single coil, ash, and graphite tone.

Thanks guys. All props on the chops need to go to Joe. He recorded that before I got it from him. One of these days I'll get setup to record at home.

If I were looking to buy an LG, this would be the one. I love the straight pickups on an LG and this one looks HOT with a killer price! This would make an awesome Christmas present hint, hint to all you TB wives, girlfriends and BFFs.
