This is one damn special bass. It belonged to CrashClint and then DannyR and then me. Lightweight. Sounds, feels, looks, goes down in the studio amazingly and goes up live amazingly. I've played everything from pop-rock to straight-ahead jazz to nuclear funk to confessional singer-songwriter stuff and it never lacked anything, nor disappointed. Even did several weddings with it, surviving the Fairfield, CT Grand Polka Champaign and Bratwurst Disaster of 2009 with it. (The keyboard player didn't fare so well....)
Some specs for the spec-you-laters:
Top: Flamed Burl Redwood (Exhibition Grade – an extra $400)
Body: Swamp Ash, Antique Yellow Finish
Neck: Maple/Purpleheart/Maple
Fingerboard: Highly figured Birdseye Maple (an extra $175)
Pickups: Bartolini Classics
Preamp: Demeter 3-band (an extra $260)
Tuners: Gotoh
Hardware: Black
Nut: Handcarved Graphtec
Bart Classic Bass pickups are more open, less compressed, slightly brighter. Demeter preamp is excellent as well, very clear and clean.
Here's a few notes from CrashClint's original for sale post on it:
__
In the words of my friend Bootsy, “This bass is Roscoe-licious baby!”
Guaranteed to make the Choir Sing – Hallelujah
It will give the Rockers something to bang their head over!
This bass can Rock, it can be a Funk Machine and it can get a little dirty like the girl your momma warned you about! The Bart Classics really opens up the tone on this bass. The Ash body produces Plenty-O-Punch. There is so much Birdseye on the Fingerboard Alfred Hitchcock would re-write “The Birds”. The Exhibition Grade Redwood Body is beautiful! It has Quilt, Burl and Flames Stripes that would make Tony the Tiger jealous.
Now for the serious, this is a sweet playing bass, nice straight neck, low low action. It plays and sounds like a dream.

That's all from CrashClint, not me.
My reason for selling is that I'm focusing much more on guitard now, so this will fund a custom-built Frankenstrat and a Franken-rig.
Form-fitting lightweight Roscoe case included. DR Black Beauties on it since in my possession. This is easily the most adaptive, flexible, versatile 5-string I've ever owned and it hurts to sell it, but since I'm refocused, it needs and deserves more playing time than I'm giving it right now.
PayPal's good.
