Roscoe SKB 3006 FS

SOLD! Ok I thought I would never EVER do this, but back and neck problems are forcing me to sell off my favorite bass. This bass has THE Roscoe tone in spades. The B string will literally crack the foundation in your house if you have the right rig you can give everyone on the dance floor a sudden excuse to run to the toilet because brown notes will abound But seriously. I love this bass and if there is any way I can get out of selling it I WILL pull this add. Full disclosure. The bass has just been re-fretted by my good friend Justin K at ModulusAcacia. And the neck is perfect. Nice low action. I had Justin put on a brand new set of Fodera Diamond strings and they make this bass sing. The bass is not pristine. The neck has small dings on the back around the 2nd fret (from a fender case) doesn't affect playability, the fingerboard has a few scratches that you cannot see unless you are looking close, and a scratch on the lower body next to the input jack. I tried to show it in the photo, but it does not show up well. It's a players bass and IS my main bass since I bought it here an few years ago ***SOLD*** FS: Roscoe SKB3006
This bass features:
Roscoe SKB3006 number 4228.
Amber finished on an exhibition quilted maple top.
Ash body, Birdseye maple fb, with maple/purple heart neck.
Roscoe/ Bartolini pickups and 3 band Bart preamp.
Bass comes with a well-used Roscoe case, Dunlop strap locks, and a new Italia Custom 5 inch wide leather strap. Even though the bass is worth more, I am pricing this for a quick sale. $1750 shipped to your door. PayPal ok. International ok if you pay shipping. However, I will NOT break the bass apart for shipping and or tax evasion so do not ask. Outside the continental U.S pays shipping.I need to move to lighter equipment if I want to keep gigging. This bass weighs in at 10lbs on my bathroom scale. String spacing is a comfortable 18.3mm. And this is truly a tone monster. Sound engineers will love you.
First $1750 gets you this tone machine.
The ONLY trades I will entertain is a 34 scale 5 or 6 string of equal value that weighs under 8.5 lbs and has 18 or 19mm string spacing.
Thanks for looking.

Trying to show the dings and scratches, but as I said they don't show up well.

Thanks guys It sucks getting old and broken. If there are any young people looking at this thread take this advice. You are not indestructible, take care of your spine. You may not feel it now, but the things you do without a thought to your body WILL catch up with you when your older.

You are telling right things, for bass players particularly. I wish you health.
It's a pity you don't sell overseas. I would have it as a studio favorit. Actually, I don't have to play on my foot in studio
Good luck with this tzar.

Hmm... This is the second time I've seen a posting in reference to breaking a bass apart for shipping. Does this really happen? Do people actually request this?

I wouldn't have ever considered it until a fellow TBer who bought a bass from me suggested I take it apart so I could use a smaller shipping box.
Bump for a beautiful Roscoe.

Yes they do. Helps them to avoid the hefty import tax.

I didn't know that. All the same, I don't think I'd risk it. Many things could go wrong. #1 If the recipient's customs officers clue into what people are doing, they and the shipper will probably get nailed for import tax evasion. Things could also go wrong physically. Small parts, like neck bolts, etc might escape from the box during shipping.

Sorry, I didn't mean to turn your sale into a Q/A session.

A bump for a Roscoe!

Good advice and good luck on the sale. If I didn't already have a SKB 3006 I would buy this.

Unfortunately a daughter of mine was recently diagnosed with Scoliosis and I really am now aware of how critical it is for all of us to take care of our backs and spines.

Hope you fix or at least alleviate your problem and best of luck

Thanks and I hope things work out well for your daughter. As a parent myself I know how you must feel. Be blessed.
