Sadowsky Metro RV-5--SOLD!

Sign in to disble this ad
This is the second in the series of “stop me if you have heard this before” posts here on the TB.

Up for sale is a Sadowsky Metro RV-5 in sunburst with rosewood fingerboard. I bought this from JamesC over a month ago with the intention of making it my primary bass. And this was after I bought the Skyline J05 from Jim with the intention of making it my primary bass. Interestingly, neither was able to supplant my G&L 1505 for a variety of reasons, none of which are important here.

I suspect most of you know that these are spectacular sounding and playing instruments. It has the hum-canceling pickups and the usual Sadowsky preamp, with the first knob as the volume control, the second the pan control, and the last two bass and treble. In addition, the last knob is a push-poll pot which puts the bass in passive mode. I should note this instrument does not have the VTC, but as others have noted with these instruments, the bass is quite expressive in passive mode and does not seem to require much in the way of tone shaping. Your mileage may vary…

Comes with Sadowsky soft case (not a gig bag but not a hardshell case) and sundry goodies (e.g., polish, cloth, tools) that JamesC was kind enough to include with the bass when I bought it. (For the record, I'm against polishing instruments, mostly because I am too lazy or otherwise busy, but I did polish this one before I took the pictures…)

Price is $1750 shipped and Paypalled in the continental United States. I do not know the weight of the instrument and I do not have a scale, but it is not heavy. And I do not have sound clips but most of you who might be interested know already what it sounds like.

Thanks for looking at my ad.

I'll bet, James. Great playing instrument, and that modern Jazz Bass sound is killer.

Tempting. I have tried an M5-24, a MV5 and a RV4 and sold all of them. The RV4 was the closest to the sound I wanted but it was short a string. this seems like it would be close.

Hey Bruno,

Three easy steps. 1. You send money. 2. I send bass. 3. Enjoy the bass!

Check my feedback here and on eBay (under username fenderprof). I've been involved in many--too many--instrument transactions and all have gone smoothly. Most folks here at the TB are great to deal with. It's a great online community.

PS: You will NOT regret buying this bass. Someone buy this now before i send him a PM to get it back!

I am so tempted to try this. My first 3 attempts at a Sadowsky didn't work. Maybe this would be the one. 34" scale, hum-canceling jazz 5 string with active/passive modes. Just what I would like.

Do you have any hum/noise issues?

That's unbelievable!!! How did they get that exact same bass, photographed on my bed, and in front of the closet doors in my office??? Unless...

Thanks for the lead and link. I wonder how they'll respond to cease and desist in my broken Spanish?

Joe

We are all crazy! I don't own a real bass amp, but I don't notice any hum when played through my Roland BC-60.
