Sadowsky Metro RV5

Sign in to disble this ad
OK, due to my pending divorce, I'm forced to move my beloved Sadowsky Metro RV5. Although this one is "the one" for me, my kids are more important, and I'm trying to buy the soon to be ex out of my house so I can keep it after the divorce is final, and I need to raise some quick cash. I think it would mean the world to them if they were able to stay in the house they grew up in.
I don't post this for any pity or sympathy....but just to answer the inevitable "why are you selling this so soon?" questions.

The bass is a beautiful 3 tone burst with a tortiseshell guard and a morado board. It is in excellent used condition. I've gigged with it almost every weekend, but I baby it and take care of it. The usual small scratches, swirls, etc, are present but there is no damage to speak of.

I recently added the VTC. It has the stock Sadowsky hum cancelling pickups. It comes with the stock Sadowsky soft case.

I don't have any pics right now, but will ad them soon.
I WILL consider a trade for a lesser bass plus cash deal, but I NEED to get at least $1000 in cash out of the deal. Keep in mind if offering a trade, I prefer, but am not limited to, Jazz bass style instruments. I prefer but am not limited to 19mm spacing, and I'm almost certain I'd need to have a 5 string.

Cash price is $1900 firm plus shipping. Paypal OK. I bought this bass brand new from Low Down Sound in Detroit last fall. PM or email for further info, etc.

For any references on the bass, Tom Bowlus, Vic, and most of the Bowlus Bass Borg gang and the Detroit contingent have all played or seen this bass.

Its a great bass.

Pat, sorry you have to sell that baby. If I had the cash I'd buy it and sell it back to you when you were ready.

I'm interested in your MV5. I have a near-mint Skyline JO5 in TTS, RW and tort that I can offer in trade. Let me know. Looking forward to pics.

Its certainly possible I'd be interested in that. Forward me some pics and what you have in mind. Also, the Sadowsky model is an RV5. Alder/Morado, vs. the Ash/Maple of an MV5.

I don't know why I typed MV5 when I knew it was a RV5, I'm not a maple board guy. I'll get some photos out to you tomorrow.

This sucks on so many levels...

Good luck with the sale, my friend. I hope you end up with something you really like a lot so you won't miss this one too much.

Folks, this bass looks like new and sounds fantastic.

Having been through a divorce I was thinking the same thing when I first read about the sale.

Good luck Pat.

wow, I'm definitely sorry to see this.

The good news that you get for playing a Sadowsky is that you know when you have the funds you can find one that will look/sound/play just like it for similar cash.

Best of luck
