Of the 3 Sadowsky basses I've tried (M5, RV4, M5-24) I liked the M5-24 the best. Maybe the 3rd times would be the charm...

I owned one a few years ago that was ash/maple and a little too aggressive sounding for me. The alder body is more even sounding and the pau ferro has nice clarity without being too snappy.
For my indie rock band, I turn up the treble for a little more bite, in the blues/classic rock band I turn it way down for a more traditional warm tone, with some of that Stingray-like punch still present. Still excels at killer slap tones, too! |

I'm away from the bass, but my guess would be 8 - 8 1/2 lbs. Very balanced and comfortable.
I'll weigh it when I get home. |

I'm still tempted to try this...maybe third time's the charm. The alder/rosewood combo may suit me better than the ash/maple I tried before. I convinced myself this bass was too modern for my R&B/funk horn band, but so many people like it......arghhhh. I'm tired of thinking about gear.

Well, at least balance that by playing & practicing more to enhance the ear candy that I already have! | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
