It has pained me to part with the Sadowskys. Perhaps this one pains me the most, but nonetheless, here it is.
This is a pretty rare bass in Sadowsky land. I can only recall one other one ever being sold used (on ebay) I have seen one or two others available new, but in general they don't come up much.
This bass is essentially a "vintage" style Sadowsky jazz built on the 24 fret body and neck. Specs are:
Sadowsky MV5-24
Ash body in '59 burst
Maple FB
Sadowsky 2-band preamp with VTC (passive tone control)
Sadowsky hum canceling pickups
Bass weighs between 8.9X lbs and 9.0X lbs on my digital kitchen scale depending on how steady I can keep it. So, I am calling it 9 lbs.
M4179
The bass is in show room condition. There's no dings or flaws that I can detect and has only the slightest typical clear coat wear that you see with use. For the most part, the bass shared time with a lot of other nice instruments with both the original owner and myself. It hasn't been a work horse.
The sale includes the Sadowsky Portabag case - an excellent case and a significant upgrade from the ultralight that is stock with Sadowsky Metros. It is in very good condition.
This bass is for sale only for $2,150 shipped CONUS. Paypal is fine. Considering its rarity and condition as well as the upgraded case, this is a fair price. I intend to be quite firm on it as keeping it is preferred to selling it for less.
