Sadowsky NYC 5 - ash/maple '59 burst, singles/VTC

Sign in to disble this ad
=== SOLD ===

Sadowsky NYC Vintage 5

June 2000
Nicely grained Ash/Maple board
'59 burst
Sadowsky single coils / VTC
Chrome hardware/ultralight pegs
Pearloid white pickguard
9.2 lbs
Original hard Sad. case

Excellent condition with the following two exceptions...

- a few small dings on the sides of the body
- a 2 inch roundish spot at the very top the headstock has had it's finish dulled by (I'm assuming) some wrong cleaning stuff. It is barely noticeable from 2 ft but the tint difference is there if you look very closely or turn the headstock.

This is a stellar Sadowsky, nicely broken in. Phenomenal tone with the singles and action as low as you would like it.

I'm liquidating a bunch of my collection to fund a SSL console that I've found (and is going to break my bank!), so let's go

$2650

Pics below

Pics and revisions to listing

OK, I pulled this out of the closet and did a very close inspection, weighed it, shot some photos.

I've revised my initial post to reflect accuracy. I have 3 Sadowsky's so please excuse my haste in the original post I was
on my way out.

OK, pics 2 at a time...

What an awesome bass. Lovin' the pearl against the finish and fingerboard. All the best with the transaction. This one should go pretty quick-like.

Bump for another nice NYC!!

This bass has the old-style truss access. My two NYC Sadowskys were 2002-2003 and they were 34XX. I would guess this one to be sometime around 2000 or 2001.

If you remove the cover plate, there should be a signature of the assembler on it that is dated.

Bump for an exceptional Sado.

This is a solid piece of ash (pre-chambered), nicely broken in, very focused instrument. A great NYC for the cost of a new Metro.

*** I will now include shipping to Can. or US.

Hit me up, I do not have much time left to secure the console.

Oh my goodness ... that bass is the absolute 5-string twin to my 4-string NYC Sadowsky, which was also built in May-June, 2000! They are identical in finish, neck, fingerboard, pickguard ... everything! I tuly wish that I could afford that bass!!! I'd love to have a 5-string version of my NYC 4-string Jazz.

+1 I have #31XX ash/maple JJ5 1999 build date. also have a 2010 ash/ maple JJ5 both loaded with SC's. Between the two I have everything I want in an ash/maple jazz i will never sell either one.
Some one is going to love this bass

Thanks guys.

If it wasn't for the fact that...

a) I really don't play 5's
b) I have two other Sads (both older ones I might add)
c) I need to collect some serious amounts of funds

... she would be staying here. I've had ash/maple Metro's here that did not compare - be it the singles or I don't know what, this one growls without being overly bright and has a very nice warm body tone to it. More aggressive than my alder/rose basses but not "artificially" or too forward. Maybe it's the age, I dunno.
