Sadowsky NYC Cherryburst 5 String $2,000 FS Only

Sign in to disble this ad
Here it is again.

This bass was listed here more than a year ago and caught a lot of attention due to its looks.

The bass sold and months later I asked the new owner to sell it back to me.

As much I love it, it isn't getting any playing time between my Fodera and Fender Jazz.

About the bass:
Owned by a studio pro in Puerto Rico
The fingerboard has sweat/dirt marks all over - however the fingerboard is smooth with no damage.
I am sure you know this is a Maple fingerboard not Rosewood (lol).

Latest Sadowsky Pre with 5 kobs combination
vol/blend/treble/bass/VTC the switch is just a dummy (no function)
Sadowsky Singlecoils
Will ship in used gigbag

The bass has no damage - the neck is smooth and has that broken in feel and plays effortlesslly. You definitely have that great slap tone and thick/fat punchy fingertone. The jazz growl is amazing.

If you take a look at the string alignment between the polepieces - they are not exactly align 100% but it does not affect tone. This bass is a 1991 model and maybe the spacing may be a little smaller than the 19mm Newer Sadowsky.

NO TRADES - I DON'T NEED ANYMORE BASSES

This bass is featherweight at slightly over 8lbs as many Sadowskys are.

I presume the body is maple over ash?
Are the pickups in 60's, or 70's spacing?

thx

I remember when this bass was for sale before.
Clearly, it's a great one-having been played so much.

I'd have bought it then if I could, and I've been fortunate to get back on my feet and have two other Sadowskys at this point. Someone should be really happy with this one.

This is a great bass. I have owned her and regret selling/trading her because she was such a wonderful instrument. She has tons of "Mojo" and sounds great. Latinbass is a great and honest guy. This is a great price for this bass and if I had the money, I would be all over it. Someone snatch this up.

Thank you for removing the temptation! Hope she serves you as well as she served her studio-pro owner.

Spacing look as 60's as it gets, like all other Sadowsky NYC JJ basses to my knowledge
