Never thought I'd do this, but a 59' Pbass has crossed my path and I just can't resist. That and my Modulus Oteil 6 with a Sadowsky Pre MORE than covers my live needs these days.
Bought this bass from the Sadowsky Shop in February of this year. It was virtually brand new, with plastic still in place, and aside from the plastic, it is in the exact same shape as when I got it. Babied in every single way. I'm of course not looking for any trades on this one, and would prefer to stay in the Contl US as well.

Originally Posted by lomo +1. I'm with the Doc on this. | I appreciate your concern. Sometimes I NEED some GAS-counselling. I wasn't anticipating ever selling this bass, but that was before I got ahold of my Modulus Oteil 6 and dumped a Sad pre into it, something I had dreamed of doing with my old Q5 but never got to it.
For a live bass, the Oteil with Sad pre has EVERY BIT as much mojo as does the PJ5. It sits in the mix perfectly, has that tube-like lowend that IME only the Sad pre can bring, PLUS it has all the note clarity and snap that only graphite can bring IME. A perfect marriage.
My rationale had been that I would keep my Sad as a versatile studio bass/backup to the Modulus. Well, I started to ask myself
'if I"m keeping the Sad as a studio-ready variant of the pbass, why not get the real thing, and complete another item on the 'dream bass' check list?'
Plus, since the Modulus truly has, for my tastes, outgunned the PJ5 as a live bass, isn't it somewhat criminal that such an amazing Sadowsky (and it IS an amazing, playable instrument) should sit unplayed?
Anyways, that's my .02 cents! |

Now the consideration is A) do I spring for a pre-CBS Fender or B) do I save some money and get a Custom Shop 59 Pbass, which specs wise will have everything I need? |

I just feel completely at home on that neck after playing a fullerton-era reissue as my first bass in 8th grade. The anodized guard and 2 tone burst of the 59' are really just the icing. |
