This bass is a PLAYER. There are signs of wear, particularly a dent/gash in the lower horn that has been repaired (see the pictures), and reworking of the neck so it has a gun oil satin finish, but this work has been done well and the bass is most presentable. The real deal is how it plays and sounds...great. The Nordstrand pickups (and Sadowsky is now using Norstrand-sourced pickups on a number of their basses) make for a slightly less-scooped, fuller sound than the usual Sadowsky presentation.
The only reason I'm selling it is that for reasons I don't fully understand, J-type 5-string basses are not working well for me on the ergonomic front. But if I rocked for a living, I'd be stupid to sell this axe.
$2750 shipped CONUS, including older Sadowsky Portabag without strap and the original Sadowsky hum-cancelling pickups. $2675 if you will take it in an old but noble Ritter Sportbag instead of the Sadowsky Portabag, and $100 off if you don't want the original humcancelling Sadowsky pickups.
Sorry, but very little interest in trades.
