It's a fantastic sounding instrument and the playability is amazing.
I'm selling it because I've decided I want a 4 string that is a little truer to the Fender sound. If I had the dough I would keep it but need to sell it to be able to finance something else.
I'm not in a huge hurry to get rid of it so I'm going to stay firm on $2500 shipped, at least for now. The bass is in flawless/new condition. http://www.flickr.com/photos/35969308@N03/ |

One pleasant surprise about this bass is that when I roll just a little bit of the bridge pickup off (and in active mode with just a bit of bass) this bass completely nails the sound Chuck Rainey got on the Steely Dan/Fagen records! |

I have the same bass which I bought recently and my Fenders are now
gathering dust. Mine has a rosewood board with alder body though and maybe
that's the faint difference you're looking for?
Love my WL more all the time!

I really want to love this bass - I owned another Sadowsky Metro and loved it. Only sold it because I needed the dough at that time.
The Fenders I've owned have a characteristic where when you lay in to a note they really respond. Kind of a dynamic thing where I could pop a note and make it jump out. The WL seems a little tame in this regard. Almost like I'm using a compressor/limiter. I think this would be a plus for most players as the sound is so even. When I change right hand plucking styles from finger to slap to pick the volume is very even. I just like that dynamic thing where I can make a note jump out.
I played it for hours last night and am going to take it on a couple of gigs. I really do want to love this bass. |
