For Sale: 1980 Aria Pro II RSB-800 - Rare and Lower Price

Hey there, TB!

(Note: I had this ad up about a month ago, it has since been deleted and replaced with this one. The original price was much higher than the currently listed price)

Long time member here, it's also been a long time since I've posted =)

I'm in the process of saving up for school, so I figured I should thin the herd a bit to help procure some funds for University!

Up for grabs today is a 1980 Aria Rev-Sound Bass (model RSB-800 [thank you again, Mitril, if you're still around]). Details are very, very scarce on this bass. I've been researching it for over 4 years and have found very little information. What I can tell you from owning it is this:

It has a brass nut, Aria Pro II brand Machine Heads, two humbucking pickups, 2 switches (i believe one is a phase, the other I'm not sure) and two stacked pots, controlling volume and tone for each pickup. The neck is made of hard rock maple and walnut and the body/wings are canadian ash.

I am shipping from Alberta, Canada. I do have a very old, not-too-wonderful case which is currently housing this bass; but which holds it perfectly. I could ship it in this case; but if you do not wish to have such an old case, I can ship it in a box no problem.

The only modification I've made to it is the back-plate, the old one was falling off so I crafted a solid silver one in place of it!! (will be shown in pictures)

From my research, I have found that a reasonable price would be around $750 + shipping (from Canada) OBO =)

Note: That isn't dust, it is a reflection haha

=) Hey there, sorry for the delay!

I just did a quick measurement and the scale is 34" and the string spacing is 14.3mm (though my measurement could be a bit off, sorry! It was about 4.3 cm from the centre of the E to the centre of the G)

WOW

What does it sound like?

What are the body woods other than the obvious maple in the neck? Not to concerned with the stringers, but what are the body wings? Heavy ash type grain. Is it stained ash? or something else?

It's tough to describe the sound!

I like it, it has body to it. I haven't fiddled around with the controls in a while so I can't tell you the range of sound (I don't have access to an amp at the moment, am currently schooling haha).

As for the wings, they're Canadian Ash =)
