For Sale: Alleva Coppolo KPB5

Beautiful Alleva Coppolo KPB5 in 3T Sunburst. 6 months old, rarely used, never gigged. Dalbergia fingerboard, bent plate vintage bridge, nitrocellulose lacquer finish. The bass is strung with TI flats.

The sad truth is, I'm not a Pbass guy. I'm not into holding instruments hostage, and a stunning instrument like this should be played and enjoyed.

The price is $4000 U.S., and is non-negotiable. This is a more than reasonable price considering the original price of the instrument (over $4900 U.S.), the condition, the rarity of the Dalbergia neck, the fact that it is available now, and shipping is included in Canada, or the lower 48 states. Interested buyers from other locations are welcome to contact me, but shipping will be very pricey and totally your responsibility.

I will consider trading for the following very specific items:

Alleva Coppolo Standard 4 Jazz Bass + cash
Alleva Coppolo RA4 + cash
Alleva Coppolo LG5

Thunderfunk 750A + lots of cash
Thunderfunk 550B + lots and lots of cash
Acoustic Image Focus III + lots and lots of cash
Bergantino IP112ER + lots of cash
Bergantino AE cabs + tons of cash

If it's not on this list, rest assured I am not interested. I prefer to sell this outright. A local deal will take precedence over a non-local deal. I do accept Paypal.

This bass will not wind up on Ebay. I don't have to sell it, and won't if I don't get my asking price. Ideally, this will go to an appreciative Talkbass member who will take it and play the hell out of it.

I have a KPB-5 and it just sings - I can't image what it would sound like with the dalbergia board. Someone buy this!

This is not a Page 6 bass! I have a Standard 4 with Dalbergia and it is the best bass I have ever owned. Bump for a great bass and a great TBer!

Peace,

T

I thought about it for about 8 seconds! I was REALLY close to selling mine at one time! It took me only a few hours to remember I got the last Dalbergia and the last NYC bass Jimmy made! I would love to have it but I know I can't get another Dalbergia Standard 4 so I am probably not getting rid of mine anytime soon! Good Luck with the sale!

Peace,

T

PMs returned.

If you are looking for a trade, please refer to my list posted earlier in this thread (twice actually). If what you are offering is not on that list, then with all due respect, I'm not interested.

Thanks for all the interest so far guys.

Let me eat my words! I know I said a Fender P5 was a better value, but dang, that bass is sweet!

I had this bass in my hands for a few *days* to record....(thanks again George)

If you want a great- maybe even an ultimate- P5, this may be the one. A huge tone, fabulous neck, good weight, great finish. If I were a P Bass guy right now it would be here ( did consider it ). George is also meticulous with his instruments and a good guy....so someone please take it before I start to cave!

Thanks George for the good communication & help. I look forward to joining the AC club. I have already spoke with Jimmy about getting another bass.
Thanks again,

No sweat Steve. It hurts a bit to let it go, but with the RA5 and LG5 fretless around the house, it's getting no time. The KPB5 is a worthy instrument and deserves more attention than I am giving it. Just a thought - this and that LM5 Jimmy was talking to you about would make a nice contrasting pair.
