For sale feeler: CB Cliff Bordwell D Bass 6 string

****************SOLD************

Cliff built this bass for me about 2 years ago, and I used it alot. For the past few months, though, it hasn't been seeing much use. It is a fantastic instrument, but I'm not playing 6ers these days. I'm hesitant to sell it, but I know that I won't be going back to 6ers for the projects that I'm doing now.

The bass is passive with Nordstand singlecoil pickups (in a soap type shape). The body is alder, the top is bloodwood and the board is rosewood. 34" scale. Flat board. (EDITED TO ADD: the knobs are volume, volume, tone.)

Tonally, it has some jazz influence due to the single coils, but it is a more modern tone. It's definitely not an aggressive 'jazz on steriods' tone, but rather a woodier, smoother vibe with a clear high end that isn't harsh. I love the mid range character of the bass.

Some pics:

this one shows the color nicely:

This pic is darker than the bass in person:

Price is $1700 shipped. No trades on this one. I'm not in a huge hurry to sell it....I'm just putting this out as a feeler.

It is in great shape. There is some finger gunk on the board, and a bit of light playing wear, but nothing major to report.

Hey Andy. I was playing 6ers for a particular gig. I've since changed directions and it isn't getting as much use. I was thinking about keeping it becasue it is a great instrument, but I could always use the money to fund other purchases. If it doesn't sell, I won't be dissapointed.

Beautiful, I'm so mad that I don't like playing sixers this is like looking at a rescue dog with 3 dogs at home already.

I had a few questions about the weight. It weighs between 9 and 9.5 lbs on my bathroom scale. I know it's not the most accurate method, but it should give you an idea.
