For Sale Fender Jazz Bass Plus V $650 NO TRADES

Sign in to disble this ad
SOLD.........

$650 buyer pays actual shipping/handling charges

Up for sale is my sunburst early 90's Fender Jazz Bass Plus V.

It's not being played so it must go !

This is an Active 5-string American made Fender Bass.

The Fender Plus basses were the top of the line bass that Fender made in the early 90's. There are several unique things that Fender did with the Jazz Plus basses.

First, the body of the bass is slightly smaller than a traditional Jazz bass. This made the bass easier to play and made the bass lighter.

Fender also upgraded all the hardware. What really makes the bass unique is the pickups and electronics. The bass has Fender Lace-Sensor pickups and active electronics. This bass has the exact same preamp as the 9-volt Kubicki basses Fender released.

Overall the bass is in great shape for its age. There are a few bumps and bruises as seen in the photos, but it plays and sounds great.

Made in the USA

Downsized alder body
22 fret maple neck/rosewood fretboard
Micro-tilt neck
34" scale
Gotoh tuners...5 on one side!
Slightly smaller standard headstock and 2 black plastic string anchors
Dot and side inlays
2 Fender Lace-Sensor pickups with a Kubicki active preamp
Original HSC

Controls feature a stacked volume/pickup pan, stacked active treble/bass boost, and a 4-way rotary switch with standby (off),
active, active w/mid boost, and passive settings

I had one. My first 5 string. Made it into a fretless. I still regret selling it. Terrific bass!

These basses are very cool. They were Deluxe before there was such a thing.
Light, great tone, this one is gorgeous!
(I had a teal one a while ago... ah, the early 90s. Same color as the 94 Civic I had - before the car was painted).

GLWTS!

That is a beauty.. I am actually trying to figure out how I can finagle some money around.. I have a 77 Jazz that I have just rediscovered... but I prefer 5s.. I just cant part with the Jazz because it was my first real bass... What style do you play mostly? Hows the action on the neck... I have played basses where it was hard to find that sweet spot between low action and no fret buzz down near the first fret.. How does it handle the B? I have heard that Fender 5s for some reason don't handle the B well... it flops too much... or so I have heard.. Do you have any sound clips of it... She sure is purty though...

I mostly play gospel/jazz. The action is good. However, like any bass, it should be set up to your prefs. Ive had no problems with the B string. On any bass ive owned ive found the flopping sound depends on string type, EQ, amplification etc.

You can hear a clip of this bass on Itunes
